My son and I have been playing Streets of Rage 2 a bunch lately.  We made it to the final boss yesterday but didn't beat him.  We're giving it another shot this afternoon. :)

10 hours into Majou to Hyakkihei.

This game is nuts. It really makes me wonder how they're going to approach localizing it. I've even started keeping a list of some of the most cracked out lines.

SPOILERS AHEAD

The story begins as a psychopathic witch named Metarika, who lives in a psychedelic green swamp out in the middle of nowhere, revives a long-dead spirit to do her bidding. You play as the one she revived, a kind of zombie-knight, and you help her fulfill her plan to turn the entire world into a swamp. Though you never play as the witch (so far, anyway), she's essentially the main character. The knight does exactly what she orders him to, and he never speaks. The witch can even talk to you telepathically no matter where you are.

Here's one of the weirder moments, and bear in mind, I'm still in the first of the game's five chapters.

Next to the swamp is a forest, and in that forest is another witch. For various reasons, you wind up fighting this witch as one of the first bosses. Metarika has been hell-bent on killing her for a long time, it seems.

When you beat her, there's a dramatic scene where the witch tearfully confesses that she's Metarika's mother. Metarika delights in not giving a damn, and kicks her in the chest. But right when she's about to finish her off, she stops, and turns her into a rat instead.

Then she summons three male rats. She says "Have fun, guys! I can't wait to meet my rat siblings!" and she walks away.

Cue the next scene, where Metarika is in her house enjoying a feast celebrating her victory. Her servant brings in the next course, and guess what? It's fried rat. Female rat, says the servant, and he explains that he plucked it away from three male rats, and that it looked like they had all been fighting.

Metarika eats the rat.

You had me at "fried rat mother"...

The only thing I can say is that this game certainly delivers when it ones to characterizing the "quirks" of the protagonist.

Damn.

Btea Killer is dead a few night ago. Really Awesome games, and all the review scores and rants i've seen about the Gigolo missions are so stupid. Not as good as No more heroes, but a good game. I'm playing it on very hard now and should have it done today. Then on to The Wonderful 101

Been playing through Skies of Arcadia on Dreamcast. (Dont get me started on that shameful port to the Gamecube...)  I forgot exactly how long the game was.  I'm 45 hours in and finally getting to the end stretch.   I guess the last time I fully played through it was back in high school around when the game came out.  I cant believe how much of it I had forgotten!  Easily one of my top three favorite console games.

I'd love it if they'd HD remake this one, though honestly it still looks fantastic on the Dreamcast.

I've been playing Fallout New Vegas and I am LOVING it! Seriously, this has to be one of the most awesome games I've ever played. I'll be sad to see it end. Fortunately, since there's so many different paths and sidequests, I can start a new game after I finish and do something different. And then there's the DLC, but I'll have to pick up the Ultimate Edition for that.
I am bad and that's good. I will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.

The game is the total package. Also i picked up doom 64 and played that for a bit last night. really awesome game

Lately I've been playing way too much of The Infinite Black on my Android tablet.  It's a space-themed mmo, somewhat reminiscent to the old BBS door game Tradewars 2002.  It's free and ad-free. While you can spend real money to purchase in-game currency, I haven't felt the need to yet.  I'm roflmao on the blue server if anyone wants to check it out. :)

"The Mysterious Murasame Castle"

This game is so intense....imagine Legend of Zelda, but constantly getting hammered by enemies and projectiles from all angles like a shmup on hard mode.

I used to kick this games butt as a kid. Beat it and all , it was an epic ending that said "To be continued"

Today I got in some good tough games in on NFL2k5 (last one they made) in franchise mode. Very tight close games. I only have two QBs due to salary cap issues, and my backup got injured and my starter is a running QB so I put him in danger of being injured all the time. Last season I ended up 14-2 , this new season Im 3-0 so far. Have yet to have a perfect season (I dont cheat or restart games). Im on Franchise season 2020. No real players remain in the NFL. Its my own little "fantasy league" . After 10 years, NFL2k14 will return!!! SEX
