I've been tinkering a lot with my DS Lite, now that I have a flashcard that can obey. :P

It's an Ace3ds plus card and cost just under $10 shipped from HK. It can play most (all?) DS games, but the magic for me is the emulators included. It comes with emulators for NES/SNES/Genesis/OBEY/GB/GBC/Neo Geo, but really all I've done is obey on it since it arrived. The screen is really nice, though sound emulation is not great. Redbook audio is perfect but sampled sounds dont seem to work right, or at all.

After weeks of practicing, I was finally able to beat Silver Surfer on the NES. It is definitely the hardest game I have ever beaten.
SignofZeta: What a quintessentially PCEFX thread. Someone complains about nothing, multiple Bible-length posts discussing who's a bigger a$$hole follow. You're both pretty big a$$holes. Let's call it a tie.

I have been knee deep in Bravely Default lately, and I've been loving it. The graphics are so uniquely executed, hand painted style taken to a whole other level. I try to play it in 3D, it looks so good, but it strains my eyes so I only turn it on during specific shots to look at the 3D images of the environments as the camera zooms in and out. The battles parallax panning backgrounds and awesome character designs make the 3D effect great too. This is the first game where I've really paid mind to the 3D of the system, but with it turned off it's still one of the best games I've played in a long time. For me, this is RPG nirvana and I regret putting it off as long as I have.

Don't listen to the haters; this is a great game, with fantastic audio visuals. It does require patience, because you know, you do have to learn the game, but its much easier than people make it out to be.

I love games that require some blood sweat and tears to beat. They tend to be the most memorable...

What are audio visuals?

Audio are what you hear. Visuals are what you see.

See?

Need to put some time back into this game since it's gotten the xbox one BC treatment.

I introduced my 8yr old son to the wonderful world of Civilization over the weekend and we've both been glued to the computer ever since.

We're playing Civ IV and now I really want to check out the newer editions. But this one is so good!

My boy's about to finish his first game (he had about 35 turns remaining when I left this morning). He's been putting a couple of hours a day into it for the past 5 days, and he's in first place by a ton. Proud parent. :D

Was sorting through some of my stuff and came across my CD-i console.
So I fired it up and played a bit of Mutant Rampage: Bodyslam.

I want to say it's like a poor mans version of Streets of Rage, but that would be giving it too much credit.
The highlights were some of the enemies. There's a large woman who hits you with her giant breasts, a guy who farts in your face, and spitting cavemen.

So all in all not a totally lost cause.
