Has anyone picked up Ys for the DS?  Kinda off topic, but kinda not.

Looks good with the soundtrack and all, and it sells cheap on ebay.  Might get it this weekend!

Ys on the ds is all sorts of a mess.  Shoddy hit detection is the worst offender.

Ys DS is garbage.

I guess I'll be charging my PSP to play these. Its sort of just been sitting there for the past several months. I'll have to play these games from the Memory Stick since, if previous Falcom games are any clue, load times will probably be horrible.

I think the load times were more who worked on em (Bamco, and Konami) and their altering/"tweaking"

Having played Ys Seven, Ys 1&2 Chronicles, and the first Sora no Kiseki game load times are small to non existant.

The pack in soundtrack doesn't have Fountain of Love on it.  That is dumb.

The stylus controls control like you're drunk.

The ramming system only works with the drunken stylus settings, so you are forced to use the slashy mode that is kind of "meh".

The rest of the game is basically a rehashed version of the nice remake that was on Windows awhile back.

Definitely not worth buying.

I've also heard that Oath, as well as the LOH's have barely any noticable loading.  I'm glad I only bought Chronicles(figured it had the least amount of chance to make it here)!  I hope Xseed gets the names right in the Ys games, some of the ones in the DS one were.......stupid.  Gorvan the Bandit comes to mind.

The NES version isn't too shabby.  I like the tunes, and the controls.

Not as nice looking as SMS/TG though >_<
