It's ok I'll just import it through ebay in a few weeks time, still haven't finished YS7 yet!

My grand total for the LE version of Oath in Felghana....is $9.82!  I had a $20 promotional credit from buying Metroid Other M, so, wow, I got this game for 10 bucks!

I got the game.  I've owned the soundtrack for years and years so I didn't need that.  I also don't need what is probably a 2010 calendar.  So I got the regular edition.  I hope I don't get made fun of for not getting the "limited" edition.

[-X  Ha ha, you got the regular edition ](*,)  Hee hee, ho ho!  Actually though, there is one song on the cd that comes with the LE, that's never been released on physical media till now, it's the version of Styx(I think that's the name) that plays I think during the narrator's opening IIRC.  I got both the LE version & the digital version.  I probably won't have the LE version till the end of the week, but, no matter, playing the game already!

I know.  It was a joke, dumbass.  And you fell for it! But it would be awesome if it was a 2010 calendar with two months on it.  Not sure why a calendar would appeal to videogame consumers. And PD I know about that extra song, but that song is not worth $10.

So far the game is good.  The opening was nowhere near as good as the TG-16 opening, though.  Hell, I've already forgotten the opening it was so lackluster, slow and boring.  But the game is really fun and that's what counts.

The calendar is pretty nice.

Its a bunch of little postcard things in a plastic container with fancy artwork.

:D

I didnt play the game.  I already beat it on the computer awhile ago.  I assume its the same game.

I've seen the special edition as my friend bought that edition while I bought the regular one.  I agree the calendar and its case is pretty nice, but not something "useful" other than the artwork.  In fact, if it were just post cards of artwork minus the calendar it'd be a better deal.

Was the computer version the 3D version?  I seem to remember an Ys 3 remake that was 2D side-view that looked freakin' awesome but didn't scroll.  Was that one called Oath in Felgana as well?

Yeah, the calender doesn't send me either.  I just bought it to buy it, & you're right, the 1 song, atleast for me, isn't worth the ost, & I own the cd's back from when the PC version came out, so, nothing new other then that one song.

As for that side scrolling Ys 3 that came out, that was Taito's remake they did for PS2(along with Mask of the Sun, & Kefin Lost City of Sand).  I have it, it's ok, the sprites n tiles are nice, the music is ok, but there are alot of area's that don't scroll, it's wierd.  This PSP game is the one that Falcom released on PC....the same year that Taito did it's remake of Ys 3 no less!

Yeah the PC one used the Napishtim engine also.  Its a great engine, and id like to think its the reason the Lufia 2 remake is in the same style.

Now that Ys 3 is localized I hope Falcom does Ys Origins on PSP so someone can pick that up as well.  I loved Ys 7 and I own the PC version of Oath.  Nightwolve's translation was quite nice.  My wife is going to get this for me for Xmas.  I can wait till then, since I have so much else to play through at the moment.  I can easily veg with some Ys 3 on my psp this xmas that's for sure.

Yeah, I'm hoping for a PSP port(or even PS3 if possible) of Origin, though Falcom has also hinted at remakes of Ys 4 & 5...which both desperately need it!  Especially 4, since Falcom never released their own official Ys 4, & there were atleast a total of 5 made, with 2 unfinished.  The Turbo, SNES &(much later) PS2 ones were released, but the Mega CD & X68000 ones were scrapped for some reason.

Also, I do wonder if Curse of the Sinistrals is Ys inspired, though, the combat it slower then Ys games, it still is similar regardless.

I think it is directly inspired for sure.  Why else would a turn based RPG suddenly go all Action RPG platformer, right after all the 3D Napishtim engine'd Ys games are exploding all over the place.

Is the PSP getting a Napishtim'd Ys 1 and 2?  I think that "Napishtim" should be part of every Ys title.
