Some hints on the bonus. So is this an exclusive somewhere or should I just pre-order on Amazon?

I haven't been playing this game as much as I'd like.  I have made it to the mountains (music is way worse than the TG-16 in this area) and haven't picked it back up in a week.

Yeah, that's Wyrdy/Tom, he's the translator for Oath & Chronicles, & came in late on Seven.  I see him alot on the Ancient Land of Ys boards http://seldane.proboards.com/index.cgi?

I highly doubt there will be any Tales games coming from Xseed, though only time will tell.  They..or atleast Wyrdy, really want to release more Falcom games!

As for Oath, loving it & the soundtrack, I'm at the final boss, I remember him being tough when I originally played it on PC.  The soundtrack I absolutely love, but I don't know if I like it more then the Turbo version, most people do, but personally, I think it's different, & my love devoted to both versions equally.

Yeah, both soundtracks are awesome and it is hard to choose.  There are definitely tracks I prefer on the TG-16 and tracks that I prefer on Oath.  Then there are some that I think are a draw, but different is good!

PS - What level are you at?  I want to make sure I am more powerful than you when I get to the last boss.  :)

IIRC, I'm at 53.  Plus I have the top sword, armor, & shield, & they're all leveled up to the max.  I don't recall what level I was on when I beat it back on PC though.

I picked up the game again today and played it.  Now I remember why I haven't played it for so long.  It really kind of sucks.  Worst version of Ys 3, worse than even the SNES version!  Music is good, but the game is not.  I have no desire to continue playing it as it no longer brings me any enjoyment.

What don't you like about it?  You don't like the gameplay?

I don't like how when things get hectic, it is difficult to see your character (lots of flashy effects cover him up and the such).  The game difficulty is severely unbalanced and there are platforming sections which are insane, like this one place in the mountains where it's like walking across a tightrope going up.  Even if you have the stone shoes you're gonna fall and keep falling all the way down.  There is no need to have platforming like this in an Ys game.  The manual lists an option to prevent you from falling off screen, but I'll be damned if I can find it.

But then again this game is made by the Japanese who haven't been in their prime since the mid-to-late 90's.

hmmmm.....so far I am enjoying it. I think the original side scrolling of YS3 makes sense to have some platforming. Also it is cool how you can change the in-game music to older versions of YS3 (but no Turbo).

I loved it, both on PC & PSP!  Though, I remember it being easier to find the "no fall" option in the PC version.  I too was confused on how to find it, but I did, & it came in handy, no doubt.  Personally, it's one the most fun games I've ever played, though, I enjoy Ys Origin more!

*sigh* I guess I'll bust out my PSP, just for you :D

And don't forget, you can change the directional stuff from 360 to 8 way or whatever, I've heard it makes a difference, but, I kept mine on 360 since I'm used to the analog nub.  There's a lil check box in the general section that says limit to 8 Directions, I recommend you do that if you're having trouble with the narrow area's in the mountains!

Ok, push start, go to Option, go to Buttons, press X & go down to Extra Function, to the left of Extra Function, there is something to click on, change it to No-Fall, the other options are Wing Warp or Walk.  Now, when you are playing the game, press select & a lil shield will be on the screen signifying that you are in No-Fall mode, however, when you fall down a pit to another room, takes you off No-Fall mode, so just press select again to implement No-Fall mode again.
