The New Splatterhouse is AWESOME... so why does everyone else hate it?

I don't think people hate the "new splatterhouse" it's mostly any major site that does.Any time i've watch a indie review on yt the person enjoys the game.

Have you seen retrogamer3 review of splatterhouse desmond ?

Then again when most sites such as gametrailers,ign etc give it low scores.It could be the reason why nobody is buying it.

Big name sites bash every game that isnt like.... Rock band, Halo, or one of the other big-franchise games.

most of the people reviewing on those sites are dipshits. 

GamePro's magazine reviewers are the worst of the worst.

Pretty much most sites wanting some thing new and the new,splatterhouse was made to cater to the original.

They knock new games that come out catering to the oldschool ways, but then the second some retro collection comes out theyre like

It's a fun game.  I don't think it's bad, but I don't think it's particularly awesome either.  It's a concept that got lost in the past -- the whole "OMG you play as a nutjob and bloody things up" isn't as shocking as it used to be... and it's not as daring as the original game, anyway.

Yeah, the blood and gore shock value isn't there anymore but I do still like that Rick is killing all these monsters so he can save his girl and he's not some demented maniac like in Manhunt or something like that.

If I had a 360 or PS3 I'd definitely pick it up. The only thing that put me off with what I've seen of it so far is the speech. The speech should be taken down a notch, removed altogether, or at least be given the option to turn the speech on/off. Rick just never struck me as much of a talker. heh

I preordered it for 5 money, and they must've goofed cause they said I paid it off lol, so I got me a 5$ copy.

I still have the 5$ receipt for the preorder.

Yeah, it looks red to me.  Did other US versions censor the mask to non-Jason white?

Oh, I don't know. When you said the 'original' mask I thought you meant the Jason (Friday the 13th) mask from the arcade/PCE version. The TG mask was purple and had a different design and the PCE/Arcade version had the white hockey mask.

I've been watching gameplay of this game and it just looks sweet. I want. lol

That's a good question though. You can unlock the three classic Splatterhouse games, but will the first one be the arcade version, or the Turbografx/PCE version? The second and third one should obviously be the Genesis games, because I am pretty sure there wasn't an arcade version of either.
