That's really interesting, I didn't know 2 or 3 was a Genesis exclusive (well I mean never released in arcade). But I started to suspect because the music really sounds like Genesis hardware. Playing Splatterhouse 1 really shows me what a good port the Turbo version was. Of course it is cool to see alot of the extra animation (like zombies on the floor twitching).
Has anyone played that "cutsie" Splatterhouse game on the Famicom? I actually really want to check that one out now.
That's a good question though. You can unlock the three classic Splatterhouse games, but will the first one be the arcade version, or the Turbografx/PCE version? The second and third one should obviously be the Genesis games, because I am pretty sure there wasn't an arcade version of either.
The famicom's Splatterhouse is a fun little game. Cartoony, but it's actually a prequel to the original arcade game.
Well worth playing. As for PCE Splatterhouse, it was a good port for it's time, but the arcade is far better. I can
deal with the graphics downgrades, but the PCE's sound effects suck. Arcade's sound effects are just awesome,
(I have the original pcb). Splatterhouse 2 is a nice game, but the sound effects are still weak as hell compared to
the first arcade game. Original arcade game is still the best of the series IMO.
