I'm inclinded to agree with spenoza in mixing it up, but I do love those old 80's arcade sounds.  Are those type of sounds all possible with the Turbo's PSG?  I was figuring you'd have to atleast make some of them sampled??

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

The games that come to mind in regards to sound effects are Joust & Defender.  Some of the coolest sounds in gaming history!

funny you should say that since those are two of the retrocade games.

I'll give you a listen to what kinda stuff ive got so far.

well, everyone will get a listen.  CCAG video after the CCAG :D

only thing I CANT do, is make the sfx blaringly loud like the arcade.  but samples wont help me there.

The trick to that is, theres no game music in the arcade, and a knob inside the cab messes with speakervolume.  I cranked TRON at home so loud it shakes the room, lol

Yeah I know.  Just in general, those 2 games stand out the most, well, & probably Pac-man as well(once again, a Retrocade game :) )

I love early 80s sound FX. Robotron. Holy shit, Robotron! Is there a game with better sound FX than Robotron? I'm pretty sure not. Defender, Tron...also very good.

Samples are cool too, but on a PCE they are so lo-fi they can't match the ones made of pure math.
