Paul, we give you all these excellent suggestions, and then you pick crap like Athena and Amagon?!!?  Is this deliberate?

(I feel like I'm reading a Game Player's mag from early 1988 or something...  Next choice up will be Flying Dragon...)

Haha, I'm trying to avoid obvious choices while picking a selection of highly recommended mixed with crappy games as it's more fun that way. I never know what I'm going to get.

Ha! I just watched Amagon. I never played Amagon, I'd love to read its development history. It such a clash of genres—I love it. The bosses are actually pretty kool.

loooooool This one was quite funny.

That game was f*cking hard when I was little.  It took forever to beat the first level reliably.

I never played this one bitd. I liked how they used some of the same sound effects from Blaster Master.

PART I ENJOYED MOST: The Silver Surfer tune at the end.

Bayou Billy sucks and rocks at the same time. Luckily there's MAD CITY which is the same but without the stupid parts like difficulty.

It could have been a masterpiece, for me, because I actually liked all the genres combined (and they were well-executed by Konami...the light gun stuff was tough with a controller (aiming quickly), but I did it routinely...with an actual light gun, also passable...but actually getting off a slew of shots quickly was the challenge. So, a nice challenge for both controllers.

Anyway, the beat-em-up sections should have been far more fun and less TEDIOUS.

I got to the last boss many times and still remember the anguish, as a kid, of dying when I was a kick or three away from beating the damn game.

Damn it, I had a Bayou a Billy comic image and I can't find it.

That light gun talk from Este made me think of Gotcha, which I loved playing as a kid.  I am going it hook that one up right now and see if it holds up.  I reccomend you all play it too!

I just played gotcha a few weeks ago. Good fun.

Also, freedom force is a personal favorite.
