Honestly I wish that Cinemaware made TV Sports Football for the CD attachment. It would turn up at least better in terms of graphics. This video is like an alternate dimension window if you pretend you didn't see the Amiga CD32 logo.

In addition to Super Pitfall (NES), let me add Athena (NES)—I have a love-hate relationship with Athena.

I also like ROCK • ON (PCE), which is a poor, sociopathic man's R-Type.

TV Sports *ball

Man screw this shitty game. Even for someone that only knows the basics of the basics of football (me) it's evident that Cinemaware's port is a turd. It doesn't compare favorably to Madden DUO (Madden '93). Hell even John Madden Football for the Apple II must be better.

Edit: unless you meant also (or) the Basketball one. I didn't play that one.

Both of 'em.  Played the shit out of them as a kid because, well, i had nothing else to do when i got them.  Once you get the controls down, they're fun games.  I can see how the simple minded or dim witted might not be able to grasp the controls or appreciate the greatness of TV Sports games, but you know, that's why we have short busses.

I had fun with TV Sports titles, they weren't great, but you could certainly have fun.

The Football game was probably the one I played the most single-player or 2-player...Hockey and Basketball were almost always 3+ people.

Ice Climber. It's garbage, but I'll play it once in a while. It like a lot of things about it.

People don't seem to like Rambo for NES, but it's a cool "Metroidvania" that was a lot of fun when it came out.

Athena NES was also a cool memorable experience. As chaotic as it is, it felt like anything could happen. I had dreams of being stuck in that game world for years.

Night Creatures is very satisfying to beat and more entertaining to play through than many other non-sport/non-polygonal Turbo games.

Tecmo Secret of the Stars is another game that seems to be hated by people who haven't played through it, often just because it looks like an NES game. It is very slow, but if you have the time it is worth playing through.

Sword of Vermillion has some cool music and art in places. It's not a common style of game and I like the atmosphere.

"Originally this game was a re-working of Cinemaware's TV SPORTS FOOTBALL 2 (unreleased due to the company's bankruptcy) that was intended for release on the CDTV as AMIGA CDTV SPORTS FOOTBALL. Due to lengthy delays, it was never released on the CDTV either because of the dying market and was instead adapted for the CD32 and released as AMIGA CD32 SPORTS FOOTBALL."

Holy crap I was right on the money. I knew it had an odd cinemaware feel to it haha.

About the games only I like, well... I'll post them soon. Sorry for mostly commenting on other people's games instead of doing a proper post.

Pretty much a kid ver. of GTA. Not entirely sure I'd call it shitty, but I'm sure some would. Used to watch the show with friends for some reason. One day, while inside Satan's booty* I saw it and was like "Okay, fine, I'll buy you for $5." Glad I did, totally had some fun doing stupid side missions and collect-a-thon-ing.

Back in the day, I don't think many people would have considered this "shitty"

It certainly was  enjoyable and refreshing to play through, and anyone who liked Konami knew that "Ultra" was somehow connected to Konami. Somehow.

Konami and Ultra were brands I could trust, it was rare that I ever felt like I wasted my money with their offerings.

Which brings me to a game that really was considered "shitty", especially by Konami's standards:

Bayou Billy — I don't know if I can say I truly enjoy the whole game enjoyable (the beat-em-up stages are tedious, and I am sick of the early stages), but I really like the driving/shooting stages, and the overall atmosphere of the game (mostly delivered by the beat-me-stages, ironically) to be pretty convincing and refreshing.

That said, I am still disappointed by this game, even after all these years.

No, I haven't played the Japanese version yet.

...but I still find *some* enjoyment, despite all the pain I suffer, and that's why it belongs in this thread.

Yeah, NES Metal Gear was NEVER considered remotely shitty. Some wimps bitched about it because they couldn't find the first gun and gave up, but that was it. (Those people went on to love Chrono Trigger and depend on Prima strategy guides.) Nobody knew what the hell an MSX was. If you were a kid, you played Metal Gear a NES and the Snake's Revenge was the official sequel.  f*ck. When did modern gamers become so disconnected from their roots?
