It's often discussed on here, just how mediocre it is and how poorly it makes use of both the arcade card and PCE hardware.

I must have missed it, but I have noticed how the PCE port lacks the scaling of the original version.  I played the PS1 version on my PSP and honestly, it's kind of a mediocre game to begin with...but hey, I'm a mech buff. :/

Bubblegum Crash!
fan translation here http://www.romhacking.net/translations/1234/
I originally had a long post about why it's awesome but my browser crashed and I lost it.
Anyways I really enjoyed the game and I'd recommend it.
so... Your browser had a Bubblegum Crash?
...Please excuse the awful pun.

Great that there's a translation! I'll give it a try. Bubblegum Crisis was the first mature Japanimation I watched back then in the 90s, when a friend of mine brought a stack of VHS tapes over to my place. Thanks for the link.

The original Bubblegum Crisis OVA series is probably my favorite anime of all time!.

I don't remember any scaling in the X68k version, but the PCE version should have at least most of the parallax and more of the superfluous effects. It really looks like a not-so-special SCD game.

One of the games that I find rather fun to play on the PCE that I never knew about until recently is Metal Stoker. It's funny because it reminds me of Atari Tanks, but with an updated look and play.

Metal Stoker is pretty good.  It's like a non-rotating version of arcade Assault, or Granada for the Genesis.

I have been meaning to give this game some time. Of course, I've been saying that for years and years.

Personnaly, I love bakoushou no shinkigeki, a platform game from Hudson with a great sense of humour in it.
And this game is available with a very low price :)

Cho Aniki
Ai Cho Aniki

Seems they are hardly mentioned here on the forum.
IMO Cho Aniki is quite hard to play...

Both these games are on the Wii, if anyone wants to try them out.

Oh come on! That is cheating....

The only way to play it real is on a PCE with a Blaster Pad IMO

Took me some time to find out that the "man beams" only show up on the sideships when you use the right controller...not sure why, since you actually don´t need to push any button for that weapon.

It's too bad that Ai Cho Aniki isn't listed on the European Virtual Console market place. Bulletheaven's review made me wanna get it, even if just to show Ai's wackyness to my friends.

They tried to make me do a recap
I said no, no, no

Cho Aniki might not be so wacky, but I am sure you can impress your friends even with the first installment...it sure is the silliest shooter I´ve played on the PCE, a true masterpiece.

I love Puzzle Boy!  That music for the first 10 stages or so is awesome.  Both that and Battle Lode Runner have been on my to buy list for a while.
