Smash Bros Wii U thread!!

Like Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros Wii U is freaking great. I'm having a big party today too.

Lots of content and the game looks incredible in 1080p/60 fps. (except for the Punch Out stage).

I picked it up yesterday but haven't had a chance to play yet. Also got the gamecube controller for it but the adapters weren't available I love the Villager in the 3DS version. Do you know if he is available on this one too?

We've been playing the shit out of it all weekend and love it!  Haven't gone online yet though.  I picked up the bundle because I love the GC controller and just couldn't be happier that Big N is still willing to support it.  Imo, it's the most comfortable controller ever made.

I've really been enjoying the new SSB features and characters like Pac-Man and Palutena.  I've been avoiding spoilers so I'm not sure what other unlockable characters there are (so far just Falco and Mr. G&W for us).  Are Snake, Pokemon Trainer and others still there?  I like the Galaga item that shoots out the notorius tractor beam.  Graphics are wonderfully sharp in 1080p.  Overall it's just a load of fun.  I've been playing Smash Bros. since the very first and you'd think it would get old, but still just a damn blast.  Simple as that.

No, Snake was cut. Makes plenty of sense though.

There is no Pokemon Trainer, just a standalone Charizard. Therefore, Squirtle and Ivysaur were cut too.

Online is really fun. There's definitely lag at times though.

i have the 3ds version and i have to say its great! dont know why dr mario, dark pit and zero suit samus couldn't have been just alternate character costume instead of being its own character to make space for more characters in the character roster. Other than that, love the fact that you get to decide between 3 character on who you fight in the classic mode. can't wait to get the wii u version. I hope they bring the zelda temple in the wii u version. best stage ever!

Not sad at at all about Ice Climbers getting iced.  They were pretty useless.  Now we have Wii Fit Trainer to fill that void lol.

I had to cheat and look up the full character list and was surprised to see Duck Hunt!  What an odd choice.

I don't remember where I read this, but ppl on other forums were discussing the lack of Rayman as a playable character.  He appears as a trophy, but someone was speculating that he could have been slated as a playable character but was yanked after Ubisoft started their very public trash-talking about the Wii U.  Rayman would certainly have fit in perfectly alongside Mega Man, Pac-Man and Sonic.

Maybe we might see Bayonetta and Wonder Red eventually?

A friend of mine who bought the game along with the GC controller mentioned he can't find the GC controller adaptor anywhere and prices online are bananas.  I checked ebay and they seem to be selling for $75-ish!  Jeez!  I'm glad I bought the bundle.  Ah, Nintendo...

Yeah, I've heard current prices for the adapter are suuuuuper high because of all the current hype.  I'm sure Nintendo has more in production.

it would have been awesome to see rayman as a playable character! he would have been a good brawler with long range attacks.  i would love to see bomberman eventually!

I've already done over 300 fights. Most being online. I'm really enjoying it and i'm taking it a bit competitively. There is a decent Smash scene here in Arizona. Also, i recommended everyone get a LAN adapter for the Wii U. It makes a big difference while playing online.

between the 3DS and Wii U version i'm up to like 2k fights online. I really enjoy the pick up and play aspect with all the characters. Its nice to be able to play basically any character you want, unlike other fighting games. I've been playing Falco,Fox,Ike, and Ganon.
