Turning off GBA sound channels
« on: March 30, 2015, 02:16:50 PM »
I'm really not sure where to put this, so I'll put it here.  I'm trying to find a way to turn on & off GBA sound channels, so I can record individual channels to help with my Mega Man project.  Does anyone know of an evil emulator that can turn off the sound channels individually, rather then just turning all the sound off?

I wish I could turn off the voices in those Mario games.  So annoying!

The GBA has 2 digital PCM channels, and most games mix several channels down to those 2 in software... so that means you have to hack the game code either way.

As for those voices, find the samples in ROM and zero them out.  I did that to Super Mario Advance with all the annoying Peach voices, etc., for a little peace and quiet. ;-)
