Regarding Audio CDs, you guys are so right. For a decade now, I'm trying to gather 2nd hand CDs of music I like, and even some new releases get cheap within months.

If an album gets re-released in re-mastered form, I usually try to get the original vintage release instead. Blame it on the fear of loudness war.

Also, I sometimes treat me to some used vinyl records, but that's only for fun. They need to be so dirt cheap that I don't care if one of the purchases begins to skip on my record player setup.

Edit: Regarding the Saturn, mhm... On the one hand, this is a console I'd like to get my hands on, because the hardware appearance looks pretty nice, and there are some exclusive titles I'd like to play. On the other hand, I already own some multiplatform titles like Konami's shooters for the PS1, so there's no real need for me to get into Saturn gaming.

I got Radiant Silvergun for Xbox 360. Honestly, I suck hard at this game and lost interest soon, so it is good that I paid just a few bucks for it.

I can see what ya mean in that case.  I would definitely emulate it first just to see if it is up your alley.

Here are some saturn exclusive stuff that you could at least try out and see if you like it.  Legend of the Oasis/The story of Thor 2, Astal, Tryrush Deppy, Super Tempo, ninpen manmaru, linkle liver story, nanatsu kaze no shima monogatari, Shinrei Jusatsushi Taroumaru, crows, groove on fight, soukou seitokai.  These are a few games that never got ported or put to anything else.  I could have mentioned some others, but they have been on other platforms such as the fighters, and some of the taito games like liquid kids/mizubaku daibouken.

I'll always have a Saturn for Guardian Heroes, Deathtank Zwei, and Bomberman SS. Those three games are easily enough.

Yup, and it works. A great choice since modchips are pretty much extinct.

Your choice of using a cheapie gameshark (no extra ram) or an AR cart (extra ram works,  but you loose backup capabilities).

Modchips are not yet extinct.  There is a gent on Assembler who sells phenomenal chips that are made of new parts, work with all laser/mobo types, and are super easy to install.  I highly recommend him.

My Rhea came in today so I am very much looking forward to installing and trying that out.

I've owned a modded Saturn for over 10 years but never built up a huge library of games.  I may end up selling it since the gray Saturn I got for the Rhea looks much nicer than my old model 2.

Curious to see how you like it.  I want to order one eventually, but happy with my mod chip for now.

Very happy with the Rhea it was super easy to install.  The only part that is tedious is converting the discs to cdi images.  I tested out games with fmv and everything seemed to work as expected and it's so quiet with no moving parts.

Just saw the thread, wow. Glad to see these exist, are still being made and are super affordable.

Good to hear.  Do you know if anyone has developed a menu system for it yet the way they did for the GDEMU?

Yes, some guys on assembler made a menu and it works great.  You just add it as the first folder in your sd card.  System boots and auto shows the menu.  When you select a game it reboots the system and starts the game.  It works really well.

Cool.  I'll definitely have to pick one up one of these days.
