Joe, you're missing a digit there somewhere.

I tried to add you and it told me I was one number short. :(

OK my real Wii friend code is:

(see new code in my next post below)

Everyone send me something now!  I will respond.  I am going to press "POST" on this message now.  Then I am going to get up and walk into the room where my Wii is.  It had damn well better be glowing blue due to messages from all of you, or else!

Here I go...

Edit.  Didn't happen.  I am sad.  By the way, the name of my primary Mii is "Joe".  Or at least it damn well should be.

Looks like Wii games are finally starting to go online too, so it was a good time to bump this thread with the update.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Since my Wii was defective, Nintendo replaced it in order to avoid having to do battle with me.  But during the process, my friend code changed.  The new number is:

3228 0935 7452 7687

EDIT:  I don't have Wiiconnect turned on.  I guess that's how my original unit got fried.  When Wiiconnect24 is on and the console is off, the GPU stays on for some reason, and the fan is off.  Just feel your console.  Notice how hot it is!  Now turn it on for awhile.  It will actually cool down.  I'm not sure if I can get friends unless Wiiconnect is turned on 24 hours a day.

Really? That sucks.

My Wii is unplugged when I'm not using it. I was about to post my Wii friend code and add you all as friends, but I guess I can't do that unless it's hooked up all the time. That's totally lame. f*ck you, Nintendo.

That's one thing i don't like about the wii.

The friends code isn't automantic makes ya wounder why,Nintendo can't have a better system in place like what ms has for the 360.

OK, my friend code is:

6396 4281 3486 6920

Everybody add me now. Because if you don't, I probably won't have my Wii turned on next time!

Personally I dig the friend codes because I believe everyone's names should be long numbers. Maybe I should change my PCEFX user name to my Wii number.

I typically always have WiiConnect24 on and haven't had any hardware problems yet. I might start turning that off after hearing Joe's story though.

I added everyone but it won't let me send them any messages. The only conclusion I can come to is that nobody added me as a friend.

I too noticed that the Wii gets VERY hot when turned off with WiiConnect24 turned on.  What you can do (instead of unplugging the system) is hold down the power button for like 5+ seconds...It will then shut all the way off.

Has anyone tried one of these?  They should keep everything cool when WiiConnect24 is on, but the LEDs would have to have an 'accident'.
