the good ol'wave
« on: February 07, 2007, 01:13:05 PM »

you remember the good times?

It's now soon 4 years since konami decided to change their top-notch over decades well known "small-wave" logo to the fugly konami writing. why in the hell, konami just made this big step backward in public appearance?

it's without a doubt perhaps the best logo a game company ever could have and they just kicked it straight to hell for any reason. arses!

really miss it :(

You're not the only one. My disappointments were even Konami straightening up their letters. I always liked the letters slanted.

Konami changed their logo?   Whoa, I guess I would've needed to play some newer games to find out what the hell's going on...

I miss that logo too, it always had a special charm to it, especially with the little Konami jingle that plays with it. By the way, is there any significance to that logo?

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

i think, the two waves stands for the name "konami" which just means "small wave" in english. as simple as genius!

Ah!  Ko(小)Nami(波)!  Damn - that is brilliant.  I never made the connection.

The old logo is about a million times better - much more recognizable, and just overall a lot more soothing to look at that the boring new logo.

The old logo is awesome, but I kind of like the new one too.  Its simple, distinct, and looks nice on a game box, like all game company logos should.

I've seen the newer Konami logo on every official Yugioh package since I started working as a merchandiser. Never thought about it, really.

It was the most legendary logo, everybody knows it, along with the Konami cheat which I think of almost everytime I see it. A tribute!

I've liked all of their logos. The first "Kionami" logo is awesome because it is so weird-looking.

That original Konami logo actually reminds me quite a bit of the Nintendo logo.
