The Wii is a "real" next-gen system.
Not to start another Wii vs. PS3/360 war, but the Wii games that actually have good graphics don't look that much worse than the PS3/360. Yeah they're a little worse, but it's nothing to passionately hate on over. The "OMG TEH WII SUXORZ SO MUCH THE CHARACTERS ON MY PS3 G4M3S L@@K SO REAL THEY LOOK LIKE MY NEIGHB@R" shit is getting really old. As far as the game library goes-- any time you have a large game library, you usually also have a larger selection of crap titles. So just f*cking ignore them. Get the good ones. Of course the PS3 doesn't have as many crappy games, I think the entire PS3 library consists of 6 titles right now. It's still relatively early in this generation, and I firmly believe the best is yet to come. The Wii has some real gems already, and it has some unique ablities the other consoles lack. The Wii has breathed new life into FPS-type games, a genre which I previously hated with a passion in earlier generations because playing FPS games with a regular controller is a f*cking joke.
And too many kiddie games? What kind of an argument is that? Nintendo has always had more kiddie games than the competition, going all the way back to the NES. Don't buy 'em if you don't like 'em.
All that said, I'm not a Nintendo fanboy by any stretch of the imagination but their current-gen system does a lot more for me at this stage of the game than the other contenders. The PS3 and 360 are just "more of the same." The same being the same shit we've been playing since the N64 in 1996.
The one good thing the PS3 offers at this point is the ability to play Blu-ray discs and upscale classic DVDs. Because of that reason, I plan on buying a PS3 in the near future. It would just be an added bonus if one day a PS3-exclusive was released that I actually wanted to play.
EDIT: BTW Necromancer, that rant was in no way aimed at you specifically, just the general Wii-hating public.
