I would have to agree with Michael here. While I hope Game Gavel does well, there is no way I would have put any of my sealed games up there (that are on eBay) for no one or just a few limited people to bid on, and get for dirt cheap, when I am selling the stuff in the first place to put the money towards other items. It would be a complete waste of my time and effort. If I put anything up there, I would be getting nowhere near half the bids I am now, on any of the stuff I am selling. How many members does Game Gavel have? Not enough for me to risk only getting 30$ (or possibly even less) on my sealed copy of Lunar or Final Fantasy 8, not to mention any of the other items I am selling, just so someone can turn around, and make a profit off of me by putting it on eBay, just because I decided to help. Who is helping who at that point? Also, you can bring up the point of, 'Well that could happen on eBay too', and while yes, it could, the likely hood is next to nihil.
I thought about bidding on stuff myself as well, to snag a few cheap games, but Michael is right as well, it's not fair to any of the sellers if you get all their stuff for .99, when you and I know damn well, that the same stuff, given a larger audience, such as eBay or elsewhere, wouldn't sell for .99. Now, you can say, 'Well I have seen so and so item go for that on eBay before!" - While that may be true for maybe 1 auction, put the same item up again, and the same fate, depending on the particular item, will not hold true at all, as long as it is something worth buying. I can't honestly think of many games that are only worth .99 cents, except for ones that are absolute ass, and what good is a game auction site with barely any members and 'legendary shit games'?
If a seller that signs up on there and lists items specifically to 'help the site out' ends up having all their items go for below average value (or worse), who is that helping? NO ONE. What that will do however is make that seller think twice about ever listing anything up there again, if at all.
While I completely understand what turbostar said about helping, and that is fine, because yes, it does take multiple auctions being up to keep the site going, the site did not have enough exposure prior. I haven't seen a single ad anywhere. I've only seen it mentioned once on the Neo forums...and that was by someone not even associated with the site, asking about where to sell Neo Geo Bootlegs and Conversion carts. Assembler forums: no posts. I could search more on other forums, but why waste my time? Dragon Warrior Jasen wanted to jump the gun ahead of Rover, while he (Dragon Warrior Jasen) was busy beating around the bush in the first place. Rover started saying that he was going to do it, and all of the sudden GameGavel is up shortly after, with no real preparations.
So tell me again, why should ANYONE put their items up on a site that has made no preparations to promote itself prior, and no one is talking about elsewhere, just so myself and others can risk all their items going for next to nothing, just to give a helping hand to a site that the owner didn't even bother promoting?
I mean I would much rather look at a GameGavel banner ad, than these stupid ads on Yahoo, 'How Do I Become a?'

It's like Pokemon...Gotta Catch 'em All! If that spam can be put on my Yahoo Mail!, then why can't Game Gavel promote itself on there? I have even seen eBay ads and plenty of others on Yahoo, and other sites.
As for the evilBay comment, same goes for me here too; I have never called it evilBay, in fact that name is retarded. The only thing evil about the site is the new CEO, and a$$hole sellers that don't send shit out, like Red Frog and a few others. They as a whole make eBay look bad. I have been on there since I was 18, and I'm 27 now. I have made some nice money selling my own stuff, as well as selling other people's items for them. I don't have a problem with the site for the most part, because I know how to use it, and I enjoy buying items off of there most of the time. I have gotten plenty of items off of there at nice prices, as well as items that I wouldn't have been able to get elsewhere. Anyone else that has a problem with the site due to sellers and then they don't file the proper complaints; I don't feel sorry for those people. People that let themselves get ripped off when they can do something about it, are weak, and basically screwing over other eBay members by not doing anything about it, because the same seller can go off and do the same thing to other people, and if those do nothing about it, etc. etc. The seller continues to stay on there, and then you or someone you know has the same thing happen, and now you have people calling the site evilBay, because people were too damn spineless to do something about it. Would you let a department store do that to you? Of course not. What is so different about online?
Also Zeta, not sure what items you are buying on there, but if they are 'useless shit' then why the hell aren't you buying useful things? I buy arcade boards, video games, movies, music and plenty of other useful items that I care to own. I can't think of anything on there that I have bought that is useless, unless the seller lied about the item, or it didn't work in the first place. Kinda funny because half the people on here buy their games and stuff off of eBay...so you are basically saying that Turbo and PC Engine games are 'useless shit'...now what was the reason you are here on this site again?

I guess if everything I buy off of eBay is 'useless shit', then I should just put it on Game Gavel to 'help'. I don't know where logic like that comes from, but Zeta, if you think Game Gavel is so great, throw your entire KLF collection on there so I can get it all for next to nothing.

Seriously though, when the site starts doing what it is supposed to, gets more members, and has more exposure, I will more than consider throwing some items up. Until then, I hope the best for it, and hope the person running the site tries to do what he should have already done for it.
