Shogo anyone?
« on: July 30, 2008, 11:47:14 PM »
Hey so Michael Helgeson, Windancer, Oldskool, scrodamoon, Zeon and I are starting to play Shogo together.  If you have the game and want to play then c'mon and join us! If you don't have a copy then hey we can get you one somehow.  So who else is in?

EDIT:

For anyone wondering what Shogo is, it's a First Person Shooter for the PC.  It lets you play as either a human or a Mech.  There's a single player mode but Multiplayer is where it's at!  For more info you can check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogo:_Mobile_Armor_Division or just ask one anyone listed above.  Hope to see ya'll in game!

looks nifty.

The wikipedia article doesn't mention the required specs; what are they?

Looks cool, but no broadband means it's a no-go für mich.  Maybe I'll just play with myself instead.

Oodles and oodles of power:

Pentium 166 or equivalent (Pentium II Recommended)
Pentium 233 or equivalent for software rendering
4MB (or greater) D3D compatible video card recommended
32MB RAM
Windows95/98
DIRECTX6
65MB hard drive space
U.S. Collection: 97% complete    155/159 titles

I used to play it fine on dial up Necro,so its always worth a try. For  asmooth hardware accelerated experience all youd need is something like a Pentium 2 400 or K6-2 with 3D Now 400 mhz, with 128 megs of ram,TNT 2 for Voodoo 2 SLI combo, and a Sound Blaster 16. Anything above that will def run with no problems.

Haha, my friend let me borrow it when it came out and we played it all the time. Later on around 2000 I got it dual packed with Septerra Core. I still didn't sit down and play through Septerra Core. I just loved how it is both mech and on foot with fun weapons.

This reminds me, I want to get my hands on Blade Runner on PC from Westwood. I played a little of it and liked how it had the Sierra old school game play. Not talking about Rise of the Dragon, which I like to.

Oh wow.  I hadn't thought anyone besides me and my friend knew or cared about Septerra Core.  Excellent SNK!

So I finally got around to playing this last night...It seems I have played this game before.  Called Transformers on my PSP.  Has anyone else played both games?  I sware to god they are the exact same game.  (well in transformers they added a 2nd weapon button because the transformers cannot switch between a bunch of weapons).  Tell me I am not alone here though, this game really was later made into transformers from what I can tell.  I even just played some transformers to make sure I remembered it correctly.

Crazy stuff.

I originally bought both Septerra Core and Shogo in the large boxes back when they were still sold like that, before the industry started those dual-packs, and the small boxes they do now.

I ditched Septerra Core a few years ago, even had the official strategy guide. I tried getting into it, but it just felt generic to me.

I still have my original large box copy of Shogo though  :D. I will eventually get on sometime and play, but I don't think it will be this week or next.
