Well I'm laughing at anyone playing an online Ys game. Seriously...an online Ys game. It will just give the Ys title a bad name. It's bad enough very few outside of Japan are even familiar with the series. A poor MMORPG version will just make people who might've heard of Ys but haven't played it think even less of Ys.
Personally, the promotion of
any Ys game over here in the West had been nothing more than a joke. I honestly hadn't seen any licensor give Ys the proper respect it deserves. They think the game is too much of a niche for anyone to care.
Yeah I've tried playing some MMORPGS, but I just find myself doing the same thing in a "supposedly" different game. Wasting god knows how much time that could be spend on productive things...like playing more PC-Engine or the other 7890908723509875789067890 games I need to finish.
MMORPGs for me go like this:
-I download
-I play the game for 2 weeks
- I stop playing and come back to it every couple of weeks or so
- I stop caring and just delete the game afterwards
Call me picky but I would like to have a game that has a beginning, middle, and an end. All this monotonous crap just doesn't hold water for me if I don't have an ultimate goal.
