The fun point about the game for me (and I suspect many others) was shooting tons of crap which could be visible all around you.  Not sure how well that'd work out in 3D

Exactly. The sense of being overwhelmed, of constantly moving and trying to survive a few more moments, despite the seeming futility...

...OK, if this guy was involved (in any manner), with the 3D version, then I'm on board.

SMASH TV: UNLEASHED, I eagerly await your arrival.

I don't know how it'd play in 3D (hopefully they'll also include the original version), but I wouldn't mind another chance to win some quality luggage and a new VCR.

Robotron for PSX already basically did Smash TV gameplay in 3d.  Well...sort of.  If they do it in the style that Midway did for Robotron on PSX then it might be alright, since it has basically the same gameplay.  3rd person or anyting else would be a total disaster of a game expereince.

The N64 version of Robotron 3D (Robotron 64) destroys the PSX port.

Never played the N64 version.  It sure looked better from what I could tell in mags and vid clips.  I doubt it had better music, and I'm sure the gameplay was the same.  This is most likely where Smash TV got it's gameplay idea in the first place.  Well, from the classic arcade version anyways.  I'll have to check out the N64 version.
