Shadow of the Colossus is really one of those games that made me realize how much art there can be involved in the game.  There are a ton of weird side things you can do as well that are never really touched on and just discovered as you wander around (his name is Wander after all).  I enjoyed the game for what it was as more of a presentation piece to what can really make a game feel like art.  Reading your review of it makes me want to tackle it again on PS3, as I only played the PS2 version.

Finished Shadow of the Colossus.

As a general "experience", it's definitely one of the best games I've ever played. It leaves a huge impression and excites the imagination wonderfully. It reminds me of Ikaruga in that it's one of those game concepts that's so simple and clever, it makes you wonder why nobody had ever done it before.

Yeah, and it was a great way for Sony to close out the PS2 chapter I thought. The programmers said their final good-byes to the system with it and took it to its max. I can't imagine how much better it looks having been remade for PS3! ICO was also a genuine privilege to play but shorter I recall.

I don't normally like online games much because they tend to get repetitive and boring, but I've been playing a ton of Rocket League. Soccer with rocket cars. It's awesome! And my car is the Delorean too, can't get much better than that.

Been playing a good bit of VOTOMs Battling Road for the Super Fami, and I've gotta say...I can't understand why people rag on it so much.

Is it because controlling the mech is like controlling a car?  I actually don't mind this.  After all, VOTOMs = Vertically-Oriented Tank for Offensive Maneuvers. :/

The difficulty does take a rather large spike pretty early, though.  After conquering a stage where I'm assuming the ground is wet, as the controls are very slippery here, you fight one-on-one with another mech that has a seemingly infinite supply of missiles.  Well, after about 10 tries I finally beat him today.

After that, you go to another "battling road" segment that culminates in a boss battle with three turrets that have yet to not kick my ass, which brings me to my main problem with this game: the hitbox.  It's far too large, making effectively dodging enemy bullets nearly impossible sometimes.

Still, the game manages to be no more difficult than most other shooty games of the era & for the low-low price of $11, I'd say it's well worth it for any fan of mech combat games, especially if you're a fan of VOTOMs in particular.

I finally got to sit down and play some games after holiday business and being so busy with repairs and building my Super Gun. I have been playing Sonic Wings 2 for the MVS quite a bit. I still can't decide which pilot I want to settle on though. Gotta drop some more credits. :D

My wife and I started Mass Effect on the 360, it seems interesting enough but we'll see if I stick with it.  I hear the game can be pretty long.

Lately Star Fox Assault. The control scheme is a bit awkward, but other than that it is a good one.

Like many I passed on the GC back in the day (I had the almighty Xbox) and just finding time to truly enjoy some of the best games the system had to offer.

Been burnt out on pce games.

Bought the megaman collection on the Xbox one and the games are awesome of course.

I hadn't played 5 and 6 until I bought this. 5 is good but uninspired, but 6 is amazingly awesome.

The challenge mode lets you practice levels or bosses like that nasty yellow devil.

I don't play many rpgs, in fact I only ever finished Chrono Trigger. This weekend I decided to give EarthBound a go (with the "faithful" patch, so no "censorship"). I found it engaging enough to want to finish it. At the same time I think it's overrated.

Patch you say?  No censorship you say.

Hmm intriguing. Maybe I can us this patch with my Mother 2 copy and play it on a Retron 5 patched for English users.

Finished ME 1, now we've started on Mass Effect 2 which is a lot more bleh in my opinion.

Also playing Shovel Knight when I get the chance to sneak some time in at home.
