So how would this be different then what's already out there?  Like the Neo Cart?

a bare card should be doable for around $5
50 board from pcbexpress is just under $400. That's 8$ a board.
Add a socket ($1) and eeproms ($5) and I can't do it for under $15 each.
And we still have the problem that modern pcb boards are too thin - you have to put something under at least the connector portion of the board to make it work. A dead gift card works fairly well, though.

Tatsujin, Terra Cresta II, and Coryoon can all be easily found in the $100-150 range, so why would anyone pay $100 for an authentic looking boot?

As for ghetto looking bare carts - may as well just get a flash cart.

I was thinking that Tatsujin was worth more than that. I have never seen it for sale anywhere so maybe my imagination fueled that.

I'd like to see those for $100. I haven't seen any yet. Even on these forums.

$88 for Terra Cresta II
$98 for Tatsujin.
$133 for Coryoon (relisted more than once after not selling at this price)

Even as non-auction prices they fall within (or below) the range given; expect 'em to be even cheaper in a 'regular' auction or on a forum.

Yea there listed at those prices but Terra Cresta II and Tatsujin are not available and at those prices I doubt they would last more than 48 hours. Thats well below the "market value" i think. I get what your saying but I just think that's few and far between that you're able to find those deals.

$50 would probably be my limit for a reproduction. And if its going to be an crappy looking one i'll just use a flash cart.

bare boards come in different thicknesses.
no need for a socket on a flash once card.
if its $8, its $8 for the board ( i expect it could be cheaper in different quantities and thicknesses)

i havent priced eproms, but even flash ram should be usable.

Sorry, I didn't see that they weren't available.

Still, they can be had for $133 (unsold since June) and $130, respectively; if you can find 'em in a regular auction or outside of eBay, they should be even closer to the $100 mark.

On the bright side, some folks got some sweet deals recently. I just saw a Bonk 3 go for $50, Legend of Hero Tonma for $35 and Neutopia II for $20. Of course, I didn't luck out on any of those, but congrats to whoever did. Here's hoping they're gonna play them and not just stick 'em on a shelf or resell them.

Well I was the lucky one who got the Bonk 3 for $50 have not tested it out but it was advertised as a working copy.. Will give it a go when I get home. Just want to let everyone know this copy didn't get in the hands of a re-seller! Can't wait to go home tonight and play this one! Never thought I would get a chance to own it :)
