Self inflicted stupidity...and there's well over 6 DAYS left...

$56 and climbing for a Legend of Hero Tonma box.

But when a complete copy is worth $322, anything less than $100 for the box is a steal.

They're out there, that's for sure. I don't think I've "overpaid" yet, for any of my games. Well, maybe by 2003 standards, which is when I sold off my previous Turbo collection. But by and large, I've been buying most titles I want at very reasonable prices. The agony is waiting, and waiting... and waiting.
Yeah, deals can still be found on ebay, though it takes quite a bit of patience and hard work... over a decade ago, prices seem to have been more reasonable for some titles... it's fun to look at tzd.com on archive.org where bonk 3 was 29.99... but, I was pretty much a broke student during those years, so I couldn't really focus on building a collection...
Yeah we never thought that prices were going to get this crazy.  Hell I remember buying a Kisado converter from TZD so I could use my Arcade Card to play Sapphire.  It was 19.99 and I bought Sapphire for 59.  I passed on MC cause I felt it was a good game but $49.99 was too much.  I got 4 good games new for the price of a $49.99 magical chase.   #-o

Back at the end of the turbo's run, I recall seeing Magical Chase for $49.99 at Toys R US... and I felt that it was too expensive for a Hucard to pick up... of course, I was in my early teens and $49.99 was more to me then than $499.99 is to me now... I think I picked up some random SNES game instead... lol!

I guess I lost alil $ that one time.   Clicky.

Don't ya mean a missed opportunity to gouge or gouge more?  We all know you didn't pay $800 for Tonma and have little doubt you sold it opened for more than you paid sealed.

Yes!  I will play that while trying to read The Steel Tsar and listening to Rocka Rolla by Judas Priest all at the same time!

Now, I'm a pro free market guy who usually doesn't complain much about Ebay prices... if someone is willing to pay that much, then so be it... but $800 for Tonma seems a bit excessive  #-o  I'm not sure how big the print run was, but I've never considered it an ultra rare game... though it did come out quite late...  but, what do I know; a non-mint box is up to $71 with 4 days to go  :o

Maybe one day I can get $100 each for my "ultra rare" sealed Power Golf and TV Sports Football copies?   :P

I bought Tonma on Ebay as early as two years ago for around $25 plus shipping.  Then resold it for that much.  There are PCE versions there for much less (than $8-I owe you one, now.)

Don't ya mean a missed opportunity to gouge or gouge more?

Opening it knowing full well it would decrease its value wouldn't quite be a missed opportunity.  If my only intentions were to make a profit (as you seem to be implying) opening it would be a pretty dumb move on my part.

We all know you didn't pay $800 for Tonma

Never claimed I did.

and have little doubt you sold it opened for more than you paid sealed.

Incorrect assumption.
All is well. :)
