I like the N64 but unfortunately I easily get motion sickness and can't play any 3d games for more than 20mins. A lot of the 3d N64 game are so choppy with bad camera angles that I get sick after just a few minutes of play.

Not all are choppy.

Get some racing games. Those have stable framerates. Can you play FPS games? I guess not Goldeneye, but Doom 64 is smooth (and scary!).

The only 60 fps game I know of though is F-Zero X. Fantastic game, and camera never changes, but might be too fast for you?

I'm a big fan of the N64, but will happily admit it was ill-conceived and has a shitty software library.

The N64 works as a casual, supplemental console. The TG16, SMS, and NES give me 90% of what I want -- I don't need any more RPGs, shooters, or run n' guns -- but they can't really execute the racing games and multiplayers of the arcade or the computer FPS and strategy games I loved in the mid Nineties. For those I play N64 and 3DO.  Both are shitty systems, but for a 8-/16-bit gamer who lost interest in things around 1997, they fill a useful niche.

Also, the N64 may be blurry and have serious genre deficiencies, but it hasn't aged nearly as bad as the muted, grey, polygon shovelware barf on the Playstation. Seriously, PS1 sucks worse.
STATUS: Try not to barf in your mouth.

Your're right, not all N64 games are choppy.  I think I'm more sensitive than most people when it comes to screen motion and it's not just N64 games that affect me.

I can't really play FPS, I remember playing one of the Turoks and almost threw up after playing 15 mins.

Racing games I'm usually fine with and I haven't played F-Zero X.  I'll have to check it out, thanks for the suggestion.

I had a lot of fun with Sin & Punishment and Mario Kart 64.  Both fun games.

...oh god is Black Falcon here too

for real, N64 had some gems & multiplayer fun no doubt, but looking back PSX & Saturn libraries were several levels above it, my opinion.

Yes, but A Black Falcon hasn't commented yet. He did make this thread though...reviews of 145 N64 games.

PSX and Saturn both have way more games. N64 is quite excellent in lots of genres though, such as FPS's, racers, action-adventure and plat-formers. But stuff like fighting games, and RPGs, not too much.

it all comes down to the kind of games you care the most and your acquisition power. Back in the day you had to pick one system. Most of us didn't pick the N64, some of those who did, got rid of it and got the PSX.

If there's something I disliked about the N64 back then, was the controllers, especially after being spoiled with the PSX ones.
