I started writing an article for my site about my hatred for Capcom but haven't worked on it much. You guys can check out my thoughts there when I finally manage to finish it up.

Please finish that article when you can, I'd really like to read it.

I can see how some people can dislike certain era's of a company, like say modern Capcom or Konami in general. Just as many people only like the early albums of certain bands. But its unusual for someone as non-ignorant or fanboyish as yourself to outright say you hate a classic game maker like Capcom.

I know that as much as I love so many classic Capcom games, I don't like many of the untouchable titles like Strider.

I'd never say I hate Hudson, although the Hudson Soft I love died years ago. But of course, you're already picking out 20 year old Capcom games you don't like, so I guess its not the same thing.

I think part of it may be a generational gap, since by the time you started to recognize the name Capcom, they'd already past their prime. Where as when I was growing up and most kids either didn't own home consoles or the NES hadn't come out yet. And Capcom was responsible for most of my favorite arcade games, during a time when arcades actually meant something.

Yeah you're definitely the only one.  You need to say "I love Insector X & Timeball but hate Capcom!" in the same sentence so I can use it as a sig.
I would say that, but I'm afraid I don't like Timeball :( .

I thought that you were a fan of Blodia? Maybe Stevek666 is the only one.

Does anyone else find it ironic that a guy who loves the PSP is complaining about crappy games?

that's harsh; what about it was so bad?
Everything! :P The story, the music, the characters, the graphics, the gameplay, the level design, the battle system the "feeling". I can't think of a single good thing about it, and I have no idea why I even bothered to play it (of course, I never finished it). Fortunately, I'll never touch it again. Looking forward to that.

Also: Dead Rising, Lost Planet (or whatever) .. those are your typical Capcom games. Can't they ever come up with anything new? All they do is action games that are super cool to 12 year olds. I don't understand how anyone can like them. I don't even like their "classics" like Ghosts 'n Goblins, 1942, etc. Just terrible! ](*,)

So you're saying you hate Megaman 2's music?

And even if you think the gameplay is awful, how are the NES Megaman's graphics bad?

Personally, I think that the Megaman series is based on a good idea that never got fully realized or fully understood by it's own publisher. Just like Castlevania, but that series is not nearly as bad a scenario and it's rehashes are a lot better.

Keranu, you're in a tough spot now: I don't know how you're gonna explain your feelings about Capcom. :) I guess this means I'll have to re-think the birthday gift I picked out for you (Section Z and Sidarms Special). Oh well :(.

I'm not going to start teasing you now (I'll wait until you have time to explain things further).

Anyway, suffice it to say that Capcom made a ton of great games, IMO.

Bionic motherf*ckin' Commando... no wait, nearly *all* of Capcom's NES titles were solid! Back in the day (8-bit/16-bit), I knew that I would be getting my money's worth with Capcom / Konami. This was not a fact. It was the law. The LAW. OK, I'm laying it on a bit thick, but the point is that both companies had a great track record, AFAIAC :) (did I make that up? or do some folks use AFAIAC?)

This alone is reason to love Capcom, and we haven't even touched the arcade games or games for other consoles!

I started writing an article for my site about my hatred for Capcom but haven't worked on it much. You guys can check out my thoughts there when I finally manage to finish it up.

Ditto on both points.

I was talking about Breath of Fire - not Mega Man.

And it looks like someone needs to actually play some PSP. Play it. You've obviously never even seen one in real life, judging from your posts. I don't care what you're going to say about it from now on - I know you'll be lying.

I actually looked through a list of Capcom games once. I had played most of them, and I can honestly say that I think they're all crap. Pretty much every single game except Duck Tales and Resident Evil 4.

Honestly, one game that justifies the PSP to me is Capcom Classics Collection Remixed.

I wouldn't have bought a PSP as soon as I did if it weren't for that game. I probably would've still bought The Apocalypse IV, but could've let it sit on a shelf next to my other TM games.

As I said, I'm not going to bother arguing here. I know there are tons of hardcore Capcom fans everywhere, so I don't want to piss people off and frankly I don't want to be pissed off.

Adding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

Haha Seldane you're a riot, I've owned a PSP twice and sold it both times because the games are total and utter SHIT. The only decent games on the system were Ultimate Ghouls N Ghosts & Mega Man X.  Face it, nobody likes the system because it sucks and it'll hopefully be dead before long so developers stop wasting their time on it.

i'm slowly starting to realise and understand, why they changed the logo. when i was in uptown this week, i visited some of the new office buildings like mori BLDG. etc. when i stared to the company list which are settled in the buildings. konami was listesd quite often, but non of those sections had something to do with game developing. there was..

- Konami real estate
- Konami gym
- Konami insurance
- Konami investments
- Konami internet solutions
..and so on and so on.

- Konami insurance

So you're saying Konami Insurance utilizes the classic Konami wave logo and Konami (the gaming company) changed it to prevent confusion?

Ahh... I guess that makes sense since the last time I tried to go to the Konami building to apply to be a game tester the secretary asked me if I had a claim number and who my agent was.

Needless to say, I left feeling extremely confused!!!

no, i try to say that konami changed the gamish logo to a neutral overall one, because they have a lot of BIG side business beside of developing games for some nerds auta.
