If one does want the US titles, with patience the bulk of the library can be had cheap (less than $20 per title, especially when buying in bulk).

Very true. This is how I've managed to get most of my TG-16 games. The games I keep for my collection end up costing less on average and I have no problem trading/selling the extras. Trying to snag individual, more uncommon games for decent prices can still be tricky.

Good prices can also be had at gaming conventions. I was able to snag some rare games like Bonk 3 CD and Neutopia II at prices well below market value at the last Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee.

Good to hear there's still deals to be had there. I know 2 years ago the Goat Store had a loose Bonk 3 Hu only for $250..I just laughed at them and walked away.

True. Are there any local (Chicago area) gaming conventions going on in the near future? I know they used to have one in Bridgeview once or twice a year.

Well Roy, the only (retro) gaming convention that will take place in the near future is again the Video Game Summit, which is where Turbo Fest 2011 will make another triumphant return.

I never heard about the one in Bridgeview, must have been a while back because I totally would have been there. :P

SignofZeta: What a quintessentially PCEFX thread. Someone complains about nothing, multiple Bible-length posts discussing who's a bigger a$$hole follow. You're both pretty big a$$holes. Let's call it a tie.

Those Bridgeview shows are probably ancient history by now. The only other upcoming show I could find info about is the Chicago Comic-Con this month from the 19th-22nd. There will most likely be gaming stuff there, but I've never gone so I don't know exactly how much.

To go with the 50 pack of Yo Bros, how 'bout a score of Fatal Fury 2?  They're new, sealed, and shipped to your door for only $8.66 each ($173.20 total).

Here is the text of the seller's message to me:
i doubt i will lose money, this sale went for 4 figures, lmao. theres no way that auction would have ended for what i sold it for. i couldnt pass up this deal. normally i wouldnt do that but this time this person REALLY wanted this stuff.

At least the seller had some sanity about it knowing full well that the auction wasn't worth that, though it is slimy (and against ebay policy) to do what they did.

4 digits for this lot?  What is going on here?  There are way too many of these large lots selling for high $ for it to be just one or two crazy buyers.

I can't imagine a re-seller would think this could earn a profit on that purchase price (even using pricing of buying every piece individually, you'd be hard pressed to spend $1000).  It just doesn't add up.

Anybody else having this stuff happen?

Bootleg Hucards (Hong Kong, China)
Third Party Hardware (US, Japan, China, Europe, Korea)
Canadian Boxes and Manuals (French text)

Someone pulled a copy of GoT I picked up for $26 that in the seller's opinion should have gone for much, much more.

He canceled the auction 3 minutes before close stating "I want to keep it"  :-s :-s

Blummer blue...
I also had a boxed PCE GT pulled (seller wouldnt respond to emails after he pulled it)

and I was bidding on the Boxed TGCD (seller stated boxed CD is "no longer available" but didn't say they were keeping it and didn't ask me for another offer (was a few days from closing.))

I hope you turned his ass in to eBay; they really hate it when somebody screws 'em out of their fees ($70-75 had it sold at $1000).

I think it sucks but what can you do?

Mail 'em an air tight box.... after you've shat in it and topped it off with a bit of silane gas.  Surprise!

They of course get reported for pulling that shit. It's been happening to quite a few of us lately.
