Turbo Gouging on Ebay ( r.i.p. - gouging much )
« on: August 03, 2010, 09:18:57 AM »
Roy deleted the old "gouging much" thread, so here it is born anew.  It's too bad the old thread is gone, as it was filled with funnies and absolutely insane deals; I guess covering his tracks and hiding his hypocrisy was more important than preserving the laughs.

Thanks to Black & Blue: click here for a cached version of the old thread (click here to download a pdf version).

As previously posted, here's a mystery bundle of gaming goodies for a mere $64,816.32.  It was last up for the paltry sum of $39,000, so you best pull the trigger soon before it jumps into the six figure range.

In a similar vein, here's a new TG-16 for $1880.  If memory serves, it was previously listed for $1200 and then $1600.  Reverse psychology fail.

Sure was, since hes trying to salvage his coolpoints on Digitpress.

Cant a mod/admin bring it back?

Btw, I'm not a fan of people being able to delete their threads/tracks. There was a time on here were my then-arch nemisis quoted one of my posts, highly edited, and then deleted my original so only his version existed.

I've said some dumb shit in the past. I'm not proud of it, but I'm not going to Ministry of Information it away. I grew, I learned, whatever. People of decent character have no need to censor their own past.

I agree.  That Gouging Much thread had a lot of important information in it, not to mention a ton of entertainment value.  He shouldn't have been able to delete it after so many people had posted in it.

Looks like I missed something here . . .

Can we get the cyber-police to back trace the old thread?

Bummer about the gouging much thread, oh well -

This might be a good opportunity to post some prices for some really rare stuff for future reference:

Boxed Sharp X1 Twin BIN priced $1385 shipped (OBO) http://cgi.ebay.com/NEC-SHARP-PC-ENGINE-X1-TWIN-CZ-830C-FULL-COLLECTION-CIB-/220578435070?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item335b7fcffe
(Apparently the box is worth $600 (though it must be super rare) =  http://cgi.ebay.com/NEC-SHARP-DUAL-TURBO-GRAFX-16-X1-TWIN-CZ-830C-NTSC-U-C-/320551035802?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa254a39a

Boxed Mint PC Engine LT BIN priced $1644 shipped (OBO) http://cgi.ebay.com/Import-PC-Engine-LT-Console-System-Japan-Boxed-Mint-/280537159553?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4151515781  (price may be a little high, but it's in awesome shape!)

NEC KD863G RGB Monitor priced $1150 shipped (OBO) http://cgi.ebay.com/NEC-TURBO-GRAFX-16-KD863G-RGB-MONITOR-NOT-PC-ENGINE-LT-/220631662098?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item335eabfe12

PC Boy boxed NEW $187 (OBO) This is pretty cool!  Like a European PCE Shuttle: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEC-TURBO-GRAFX-16-COMPATIBLE-SYSTEM-PC-BOY-PAL-220V-/320457941176?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4a9cc820b8

Or NOT!

Turbo Express w/ all the trimmings $1200  http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-NEC-TURBO-GRAFX-16-EXPRESS-SYSTEM-W-TV-MORE-RARE-/320556245071?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Video_Games&hash=item4aa2a4204f  Has awesome Bonk video though not displaying on the actual Express screen... LOL

And just stupidity....
Not technically gouging since it started at $100, but ebay buyers have evoked self-gouging like a level 20 Sorcerer...
TGCD w/super system card and 39 common games + 2 extra TG16s (highest value game is what, Dragon Slayer?).... now at $650 + $85 ship with 18 hours to go
http://cgi.ebay.com/Turbo-Grafx-16-and-cd-plus-duo-card-and-lot-games-/150472052461?cmd=ViewItem&pt=FR_CA_Syst%C3%A8mes_de_jeux_vid%C3%A9o&hash=item2308d54eed... oh, but it does have the 2 most common issues of Turbo Force included!

A classic... 50 Sealed Yo Bros right at $500 shipped  http://cgi.ebay.com/Yo-Bro-TurboGrafx-16-50-Brand-New-Factory-Sealed-Copies-/110551822901?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item19bd66f235  Man it must be rare if they didn't even make a PC Engine version.
